In 1997, La Paz Spa founder, Debbie Drew, weighed 199 lbs. and was on seven different prescription medications for pain, depression, anxiety, body tremors, constipation and insomnia. At this time in her life, she found herself in and out of hospitals with several bouts of intense abdominal pain from IBS. Debbie’s breaking point came when she was working as a nurse, literally digging waste out of an elderly lady in a nursing home using an enema, with little results. Debbie realized she had all of the same symptoms and was on many of the same medications. With her will of a lion, she decided then and there that something had to change.
With this decision, Debbie quit taking all seven medications, quit her job, stopped her habit of emotional eating, started swimming daily and began a body detox program. With these changes, she lost 25 pounds and started a new career as a massage therapist, which lead to the opening of the first La Paz Spa, Total Body Detox Center. Shortly after opening the spa, she attended a body dynamics trade show in Las Vegas where she experienced her first colonic. This experience changed her life and motivated her to become a certified I-ACT Colon Hydrotherapist. After which, she purchased a Libbe Open Colonic System for the spa and her focus on colon health began.

With regular colon hydrotherapy sessions, she lost an additional 30 lbs. over the next year. After cleansing her gut, she had more energy and her body became truly healthy.
Debbie’s passion is to help people poop! Her mission with La Paz Spa is to inspire others to transform their lives with healthier lifestyle choices and cleansing … to improve their health from the Inside Out.
The Libbe Open Colonic System
With the Libbe Open System, water flows through a Carbon Filter which removes any sediment, rust, or chlorine. The water is purified by an Ultra Violet Purification System, before it passes through the colon cleansing nozzle. Water flows gently into the rectum and waste releases naturally.
A gentle slow rate of UV purified-temperature safe water is fed from the gravity-fed Column. Less than 10 gallons of water may be used during the session at a safe temperature of 98 F. to 102 F. (Water temperature is safely controlled and adjusted). An Odor Exhaust System insures that the session room and entire center remains odor free.
The base (table) has over three feet of clear viewing tube, which allows the patient/client and the therapist to easily view (without any odor) the waste during releases. A rinsing sprayer is used to rinse bottom after session. Sessions last approximately 45 minutes. Modesty is protected at all times. After each session, the Libbe is easily and safely disinfected.
