Sleep Is Needed!

Life seems to get busier and busier, and the amount of hours in the day seems to get less and less. And, although we love it most, sleep often gets compromised in the busiest of times. Coffee may be able to save us for the short-term, but have you ever really thought about what shaving those extra few hours of sleep off your night really do for your body and your appearance?

There’s a reason they call it beauty sleep! And, no, that’s not just a cute, catchy phrase … your body really does need sleep to keep you and your skin and body healthy, glowing, and youthful. When you miss out on sleep, even just a few hours a night, it’s noticeable! BBC Health News reported on a study that found people expressed a statistically significant less amount of attraction to people that slept for only 4 hours a night as opposed those who got a full night’s rest. So, what is it about sleep that makes you more attractive?? Sleep is your body’s happy hours to…

1) Renew collagen in the skin

While you’re sleeping, your skin is working hard to regenerate collagen, a key chemical in keeping skin plump, tight, and free of fine lines and wrinkles! Reducing your night’s sleep, even by just a few hours, decreases your skin’s collagen production by up to half, leaving skin just a bit more saggy and wrinkled.

2) Circulate nutrients, vitamins, and minerals throughout the body

During those precious hours of sleep, blood flow is boosted to ensure that circulating nutrients are delivered throughout the body. This includes your face! Ever miss a good night’s sleep and wake up with dark circles and bags under your eyes? That’s because the body did not have an adequate amount of time to circulate blood and nutrients properly, so blood accumulated and concentrated. Due to the skin being thin under the eyes, blood accumulation is more apparent and noticeable. Increased blood flow through a night’s sleep also brings a natural, flushed glow to the skin in the morning. So, missing even a few hours of sleep can lead to dull, dreary skin… yuck!

3) Keep your body clock on time

When you change your routine, your body knows it. It’s used to waking, eating and sleeping at certain times, so when that cycle is thrown off, your body gets thrown off too. And one of the biggest consequences is with your colon. Your colon ticks to the same clock. It tends to contract when you wake up and after you eat. So, when you’re sleeping and eating at different times, the cues to your colon will get thrown off too. Getting a good night’s sleep does more than your body good!

4) Rest and rejuvenate; taking in the full benefits of whatever products you use

With this increase in blood flow and circulation of nutrients throughout the body, the products we put on our skin overnight are boosted in benefit with deeper skin penetration and delivery. Without the environmental stressors (i.e. sun, free radicals, etc.) of the day, the body has less in its way of proper functioning and renewal during sleep. Want to bring extra beauty to your sleep? Have a Clean Colon allowing your organs to rest working on the blood and nutrients.  Intermitted fasting Helps also.

For these reasons, and so many more when it comes to your overall health and wellness, getting your full 7-8 hours of sleep per night is a must for your beauty routine! But, what if you just can’t get to sleep??  There is deep relaxing breaths, sleep music, even using a hand held massager to release tension in your body.  Clean Colon works wonders for sleep.
